Basic Course of Photography
EVENTS – PORTRAIT – STREET

The course is designed to provide solid technical and practical training in the three main photographic genres: PORTRAIT, EVENTS, and STREET PHOTOGRAPHY.
It is aimed at beginners and photography enthusiasts who wish to develop their skills and build a professional portfolio under the guidance of industry experts.

What the Course Offers
- Portrait Photography:
You will learn how to photograph individuals and groups in both studio and outdoor settings, using natural light and flash. Topics will include posing techniques, subject interaction, and enhancing expressiveness. - Event Photography:
You will be guided through the creation of photographic reports in dynamic settings, such as ceremonies, performances, or corporate events, developing the ability to capture meaningful moments with speed and precision. - Street Photography:
You will acquire the skills to take spontaneous and narrative images in urban environments, capturing the beauty and complexity of everyday life with an ethical and respectful approach.
WHO IS IT FOR
The course is open to anyone who wants to learn or improve their photography techniques, regardless of experience level. No prior training is required, but having a DSLR or mirrorless camera is recommended to actively participate in practical exercises.
Teaching Methodology
Through a combination of theoretical lessons, practical exercises, and work reviews, the course aims to develop both technical skills and the artistic eye of students. The approach is highly practical and focused on building a professional portfolio. Review sessions are also very useful for revisiting theory and understanding and stimulating students’ potential.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend a real, non-simulated event as assistants to the instructor. The course is based on a practical and immersive approach, alternating theory with direct field application. Students will have the chance to practice during real concerts, applying the knowledge gained with the support of an expert instructor.

Requirements
Each participant must have a camera (DSLR or mirrorless) and, if possible, a bright lens. If a camera is not available, it is possible to rent one from the agency.
COURSE TYPES

ENROLLMENT

To enroll in this course, you must fill out the form on the dedicated page and pay a deposit of €100. The remaining balance must be paid in full before or on the first day of the course.
If the courses are not currently scheduled, you can fill out an interest form. For intensive courses in cities other than Milan, please specify the city name. If there is a sufficient number of participants, a suitable location can be arranged for the course.
DETAILED PROGRAM

Module 1: Fundamentals of Photography
- The Camera: shooting modes, lenses, ISO settings, aperture, and shutter speeds.
- Light: natural, artificial, flash, and continuous; management and creative use of light.
- Composition: Rules and techniques for creating visually appealing and balanced images.
- Post-Production: Software for post-production and basic editing.
Module 2: Portrait
- Portrait with Natural Light:
- Posed and candid portraits.
- Make the most of ambient lighting, techniques for reflection and diffusion of ligh.
- Place the subject in a context to tell a story.
- Place the subject in a context to create a more engaging composition.
- Studio Portrait (individual and group):
- Synchronization and use of flash (on-camera and off-camera).
- Basic setup of a photography studio: backgrounds, lights, diffusers, reflectors.
- Management of individual and group subjects, posing techniques.
- Practical Exercises: Shots in the studio, outdoors, and in various lighting conditions.
- Review: Selection and critical analysis of the best photos taken.
Module 3: Street Photography
- Introduction to Street Photography
- History and masters of street photography.
- The concept of the “decisive moment” and visual storytelling.
- Basic Tecniques:
- Discreet approach.
- Choosing the moment.
- Dynamic composition.
- Ethics of Street Photography: rights and respect for privacy.
- Practical Exercises: Photographic outings in urban environments with supervision.
- Review: Selection and critical analysis of the best photos taken.
Module 4: Event Photography
- Planning and preparation: what to bring, how to study the event, and anticipate key moments.
- Techniques for shooting in dynamic environments:
- Use of flash and ISO settings for variable lighting conditions.
- Quick composition and storytelling.
- Behavioral ethics: Working discreetly and respectfully during events.
- Practical exercises: Simulated event in class and participation in a live event as an assistant (maximum 2 students per event).
- Review: Selection and critical analysis of the best photos taken.
Conclusion and Final Selection
- Review and selection of the portfolios created during the course.
- Individual and group feedback on the work done.
- Final evaluation to identify the best students who will join the agency’s roster.
